The CrossThe Cross

In a southeast Asian nation, there have been major spiritual conflicts. The Christians has been greatly persecuted, churches burned, pastors jailed and killed by Muslim militants. In 2008, one of the villages lost its church building when it was burned down by Islamic terrorists. After taking some time to heal, the believers wanted to rebuild their church but had no money. So after much effort to save and give, they had collected $5000 to begin building.

While in prayer the pastor heard the Lord instruct him to give all the collected funds to the iman of their town (leader of the Muslim group). This was a difficult decision but the elders agreed to follow the Lord and do as God asked. So the pastor went to the iman and graciously gave the entire $5000 for the building of a new mosque. This iman wept and said, “Don’t you know what we have done to you and your church?” The pastor replied that the Lord Jesus asked his congregation to give unselfishly. So the iman took the money and then offered to have his Muslim men go and help the church members build the church. Together they cut down the bamboo and timbers needed for the new Christian place of worship. When the governmental leader of the town heard the news, he was so moved he gave the pastor an extra $15000 from the city towards the new church.

So the entire town will welcome the new church. He will make even our enemies to be at peace with us.
