John and Vicky PorterfieldJohn and Vicky Porterfield

Vicky Porterfield is an anointed minister whose desire is to further God’s Kingdom through prayer, service and teaching.  As a natural teacher, Vicky imparts wisdom in a fresh and clear manner. Although a native Texan, her travels throughout the United States and overseas offer a broad perspective to what God is doing in the nations. The prophetic anointing of God allows Vicky to provide encouraging ministry to cities, churches, leaders and individuals.

In 2002 Vicky and her husband John co-founded PrayerFields, a ministry committed to help Christians identify their field and how to pray effectively in their place. Vicky served as National Director of Intercessors International for six years under the leadership of Elizabeth Alves and Tommi Femrite.   She has trained instructors and taught principles of intercession to believers of different denominations, ages and cultures.  Vicky has led prayer teams for conferences in the U. S., Argentina, Switzerland and Germany and had the opportunity to teach in South Korea, Romania, Latvia, Argentina, Burundi, Hungary, Jordan, Egypt and Kenya. Her love for young people brought opportunities to teach seminars for multiple years at the Urbana conference through Inter Varsity. She is the Team Lead of Intercession for the college-age Passion Conferences. Vicky has expanded her teaching to weeks of training for Youth with a Mission (YWAM) in multiple nations.

Vicky’s teaching abilities grew from when she was only six years old, teaching other children in her San Antonio neighborhood.  She graduated from the University of Texas and taught high school math before she became involved in leading Bible studies, women’s groups, home groups and youth. Vicky has coordinated meetings of Pray Austin and Austin Women in Leadership while also teaching many Bible study classes, including one in Tiberias. When in America, she is a member of 2 Austinite churches, Church of the Hills and the Austin Stone Community Church. Her many years as a realtor give Vicky a business perspective as well. Currently she and her husband live in Tiberias, Israel where John is working as the global CFO of a high tech international manufacturing company. This change in location has opened doors to speak and train believers in other Middle Eastern countries. She helps Pastor Bob Roberts from Keller Texas with his international networks and global collaboration teams.

Vicky and her husband of 33 years, John, a CPA, have two married daughters in their 20s and a new granddaughter Audrey who all live in Texas.

John Porterfield has been in finance and accounting for all of his adult life. He grew up in Waco, Texas and received his BBA in accounting from the University of Texas where he met his future wife, Vicky. He owned a prosperous and effective accounting practice, Porterfield and Associates, CPAs for 25 years in Austin, Texas. He helped businesses, government, non profit organizations and individuals in planning, tax matters, audits and business development. In 2006 after consulting with a medium size Israeli company located in Tiberias, the Porterfields moved across the Atlantic Ocean near the place where Yeshua called home. Their apartment overlooks the Sea of Galilee, where Peter stepped outside the boat to accompany Jesus on the water. John and Vicky also believe they are living in faith outside the boat. John is the global CFO of Galtronics and interacts with their other offices in Korea, China, USA and soon Taiwan. His strategic planning and finance skills have been invaluable to the company and his integrity is well known among the employees. He represents Christ and upholds Christian values to his accounting staff and outside contacts from around the world.

John has taught many of these marketplace principles and helped others develop Great Commission practices for their businesses. Although John may not appear to be in full time ministry, he is. His prayerfield at Galtronics and to financial leaders of all types, proves His calling and giftings are strong.

Sometimes John and Vicky travel and teach together to reach people of all walks of life, those who work in a church environment and those who choose business as their ministry. Their perspective on life and the church is no longer American but truly international in scope and revelation. Their experiences are vast and they continue to marvel at the opportunities and the people they meet. What stories they tell of God’s goodness and His work! No matter the city or nation, they continue to keep close ties to family and friends. How blessed of God to be chosen to live in such times and places!
